Cara Burrola
School Psychologist
Hello Kendallvue Coyotes, I'm Cara Burrola!
I'm the school psychologist at Kendallvue. I work with all students in the school to build strong social-emotional skills through school-wide systems, classroom support, and small group and individual sessions. I also work closely with the principal, classroom teachers, and special education team to support our students. I really enjoy working in Jeffco as I grew up in Arvada and attended Jeffco schools for elementary, middle, and high school. After high school, I attended the University of Colorado, Boulder (GO BUFFS!) and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2007. I then attended the University of Denver and graduated with an Education Specialist degree in Child, Family, and School Psychology in 2015. This will be my fifth year as a psychologist at Kendallvue.
My husband and I have two children; Lexi who is 3 and Enzo who is 1 and a half. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with kids, family, and friends. I also like to read, watch movies, and sit by the pool. Traveling is another pastime that I enjoy, my parents have a cabin in the mountains that we like to visit.
My first experience working with students with disabilities was as a high school leader at Outdoor Lab and I loved it! That experience leads me to the field of school psychology and has shaped my career. My "why" has always been the students. If I can make a difference in a student's life by teaching them a skill, finding them a resource, or just being a friendly, safe place, then I am happy. I love building relationships with students and families and I look forward to meeting new faces and welcoming back returning ones this year!
