I am thrilled to be joining the Kendallvue team this year as the K-2 Learning Specialist! I received my teaching degree from Regis University in 2013 and went on to teach in a variety of capacities, finding my heart and enthusiasm for Special Education.

I love spending time exploring our beautiful state, whether it be on foot, bicycle, or camper van. My husband and I have a boxer dog named Myles who loves going on adventures as much as we do! I think of learning and growing as a wonderful adventure as well, and look forward to each day that I get to be a part of sharing that excitement with my students, encouraging them to face each mountain with confidence and celebrate the growth that comes with each journey!

I am currently a learning specialist for 1st-3rd grades at Kendallvue Elementary.  This is my 3rd year at Kendallvue and my 9th year teaching.  Prior to this, I worked in Pueblo, Colorado.  I have taught Pre-K, 1st, 4th, and 6th-12th at an alternative school before I began my career in special education.  I just finished my Master's Degree in special education through UNC.  I completed my Bachelor's degree at Colorado State University-Pueblo.  I currently hold endorsements in Elementary Education (K-6), Special Education (5-21), and Early Childhood.

When I am not at Kendallvue I love spending time with my husband, Sean,  my two boys, Ayden and Conner, and my step-daughter, Lucy.  We love going on adventures together.  We have 4 wonderful dogs as well.  We love to be outdoors whether it be four-wheeling, hiking, time at the lake/pool, or fishing.     I also love baking and decorating cakes and have been doing that for about five years.

I love being an educator.  I have known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was in the third grade.  I had an amazing teacher and that experience has impacted me throughout my life.  I truly want to make a difference in students' lives, make them realize their own potential and learning power, and to provide that safe place for students to truly be who they are.  I love getting to know students, to watch their self-confidence increase, and to facilitate learning to exceed mine and their own expectations.  Teaching is the most wonderful, rewarding profession and I am so happy that I get to learn as much, if not more from my students than they do from me.   Thank you for allowing me to be a part of you and your students' lives!

Learning Specialist (4-5)

Hello, I am Marcus Denny. I am currently working in our wonderful school as the 4th and 5th-grade Learning Specialist. I am a combat veteran that served in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2005. I received my master’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver with an emphasis on special education in 2015. I have been in the education field going on 9 years serving across all levels of K-12 public education.

I was born and raised on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wisconsin. I am an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian tribe and descend from the Oneida and Potawatomi nations as well. I met my beautiful wife Tanksi Clairmont when she was living in Minnesota and we decided to make the Denver Metro area home. We love spending our time watching our children play sports and traveling North America to participate in cultural activities throughout the summer.

I entered the education field after leaving the military to make a difference in my community. I believe that educators are an integral part of growth for children. I strongly believe in building good relationships with students so that they buy into and take ownership of learning. One of my favorite quotes from Rita Pierson is as follows, “Kids don’t learn from people they don’t like.” I think the teacher-student relationship is a must for authentic learning. I love teaching because there are never any two days that are alike.
