I received my teaching degree from Regis University in 2013 and went on to teach in a variety of capacities, finding my heart and enthusiasm for Special Education.

I love spending time exploring our beautiful state, whether it be on foot, bicycle, or camper van. My husband and I have a boxer dog named Myles who loves going on adventures as much as we do! I think of learning and growing as a wonderful adventure as well, and look forward to each day that I get to be a part of sharing that excitement with my students, encouraging them to face each mountain with confidence and celebrate the growth that comes with each journey!

Kelsey Smith

Learning Specialist (K-2 grades)

Hello Kendallvue Community! My name is Kelsey Smith and I am thrilled to be joining the Kendallvue team as a Learning Specialist this school year. This will be my 9th year of teaching Special Education. Prior to teaching at Kendallvue, I taught in Bailey for 8 years.  I’m a former Jeffco student myself. I started attending Marshdale Elementary in 4th grade and continued to attend school in Jeffco until I graduated from Conifer High School in May 2008. After graduating from Conifer High School, I went on to attend the University of Northern Colorado to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. During my time at Conifer High School, I was part of the Unified PE program which allowed me to be a Special Olympics Coach. My experience as a coach in high school helped me find my true passion for Special Education. As a teacher, there is nothing I love more than helping each of my students learn, grow, and follow their own dreams.

Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. One of my favorite pastimes is exploring the beautiful mountains with my family’s horses. In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors for two nonprofit organizations (Bootstraps and Turner Syndrome Colorado) here in Colorado. I chose to join the boards of those organizations because it gives me the chance to continue putting my passion for students and helping others to work.

I’m really looking forward to being a part of the Kendallvue team and getting to know everyone.
