First Grade Team

Ms. Case

Ms. Case

Hello! My name is Ashley Case and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade here at Kendallvue. I grew up in Arvada, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado Boulder. I graduated in 2020 with a degree in English and elementary education.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, paddle boarding, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dog, Archie. I am also a fan of all Colorado sports teams but my favorites are the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets!

I believe to be successful it is important to build strong relationships inside the classroom. I want students to enjoy learning and be excited to come to school everyday. I am excited to get to know my students each year and learn about their interests and their strengths. I believe getting to know my students as people rather than just students will help them be successful. I want students to leave our classroom feeling more confident and excited about what they are learning each day. I look forward to a fun year in 1st grade!

Mrs. Weiman

Welcome to Kendallvue Elementary!  I’m excited and happy to be teaching first grade this coming school year! This will be my 22nd year teaching 1st grade at Kendallvue and 29th year teaching full time at Kendallvue, home of the Coyotes.  I was raised in McCook, Nebraska and after high school continued my education at McCook Community College earning an Associate of Arts Degree. I attended and graduated from Peru State College (in Nebraska) with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. I completed my student teaching in Lincoln, Nebraska, and earned my Master of Science in Education Degree from the University of New England. I love Colorado and all that it has offered my family and me!

I have two grown children. My daughter, Kaitlyn, graduated from Metropolitan State College and taught 5 years at Alameda Jr/Sr High before leaving the teaching profession for a position in the restaurant business. Her passion growing up was riding horses at Westernaires with her friends. She now is a proud dog mom, of her beloved Kovu, a Great Dane. My son, Blake, is a professional baseball player. He was drafted in 2017 by the Pittsburgh Pirates and has moved up through the minor league system quickly. He started in short-season A then went to long season A, Advanced A, AA and AAA. Currently he’s playing in the Pacific Coast league, AAA ball, with the Tocama Ranier's (Seattle Mariners Organization). We are confident he’ll make the next big step to the majors and fulfill his lifetime dream! I enjoy teaching, traveling to baseball games, visiting family in Nebraska, walking my two-year-old dachshund-Jack and my 4-year-old black lab-Charlee, reading, working out, & relaxing with friends whenever possible.

I believe experiencing a strong fo
undation in elementary school is key to success! I want and work to give that to every child in my class. My goal each year is to challenge students while instilling confidence in themselves that sets them up for trying new things-being creative, making new friends, and exploring their way through the learning process-being curious. I love what I do, because I get to see such tremendous growth in children in one year, as well as follow them as they become young adults. It’s all about giving back what was given to me and was given to my own children as they began their education and became successful adults. I am so thankful to the teachers my own children had at Kendallvue and know you will feel the same!

Mrs. Shaver

Shaver Shaver Shaver
My name is Denise Shaver, and I have been a teacher for about 27 years, eleven of them in Jeffco.  I have previously taught preschool,  kindergarten, first, second, fifth and sixth grade. I am very proud to be a part of the Kendallvue community and work with a wonderful team of educators.

I am a proud Colorado native and I live in Morrison with my husband Rick. We have raised three boys, twins Derrick and Justin and our youngest, Joshua. We also have four grandchildren, soon to be five. I enjoy reading, watching movies, doing puzzles, hiking and going to the lake with my family. I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with my Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and a minor in Reading. I also have my endorsement in culturally linguistically diverse education and am trained in Orton-Gilingham IMSE, Reading Simplified Academy and the CDE Science of Reading.

Over the years, I have become very aware of the impact teachers have on the lives of their students. As students enter school, they are turned over to the care of their teacher for nearly seven hours a day. I am a huge supporter of home-school communication. I believe that when a parent and teacher communicate about a child, the child will have a happier, more successful school year. This will be an exciting year, and it is my goal to make this year the best that I can for each student in my class.
