Hello, I am Mrs. Sabo!

Some of you knew me last year as Ms. DeHaan but over the summer I got married. Yay! I  was so lucky to have had the wonderful opportunity to call Kendallvue my home for the last school year, as I student taught under Matti Lord, in second grade. This year I am beyond excited to be at Kendallvue as a Preschool Teacher. I recently graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelors of Art in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics.

I am a Colorado Native, grew up in the Littleton area, and love all that Colorado has to offer. My husband and I love the outdoors, we camp, ride dirtbikes, and snowboard in the winter! Besides being outside we love to snuggle with our cat, JoJo Bella and family is a major aspect of our lives. I also have a new found love for enormous trees. I discovered this love on our honeymoon in Ireland.

I am new to teaching and have looked forward to this all of my adult life. I cannot wait to begin my career with the earliest learners in our community! My passion is helping students find themselves and find what ignites their willingness to learn.  I believe that students gain the necessary skills and develop their identities as learners, thinkers, problem solvers, and caring individuals through authentic modes of learning. As Sue Kempton says “play is the work of children.” We are going to have so much fun in preschool! Thanks for letting me enjoy your children!

I am teaching morning preschool this year as well as supporting preschool through 2nd-grade teachers as an Instructional Coordinator. This is my 23rd year in education. I have taught preschool all the way up to college students and adult learners. I have most recently taught kindergarten and been an Instructional Specialist for Jeffco’s Early Childhood department. I truly love teaching and especially our youngest learners.

I live with my family in Littleton. We have 3 children ages 22, 19, and 11. We have 2 sweet dogs, 2 turtles, and a bearded dragon. I love animals! I also love to travel and you will often see me paddle boarding on any lake in the area.

It is my passion to work with young learners. I learn so much from them every day. I believe that every child deserves an excellent learning environment, a place to explore and discover and make friends. I work hard to support your child in their cognitive, language, social/emotional, academic, and physical growth. I believe children learn through play. We will have a blast together! Thank you for sharing your children with me.

This upcoming school year I will be an Early Childhood Instructional Partner in the preschool here at Kendallvue Elementary. I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder (GO Buffs!) where I studied Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences and received a minor in Education. Because of the passion, I have for speech therapy I decided to pursue a certificate as an SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant) and was certified last May.

Outside of my love for education, I am a Colorado Native and love being outdoors. I grew up skiing and hiking and still to this day enjoy all of the beauty that Colorado has to offer. Although I love the outdoors, my true passion lies with dance. I began dancing when I was three and trained as a prima ballerina for 11 years. Since my ballerina days, I have been fortunate to dance professionally for the Denver Outlaws Dance Team (Major League Lacrosse) for two years, and now am on my second season dancing for a professional company called Dream Project.

I am very excited for a wonderful year assisting in the preschool at Kendallvue. Each child is a piece to our Kendallvue community and I am so excited to be a part of their learning experience. I look forward to all of the creativity that each child will bring to the classroom and a year full of growth!

I am Sarah Samour and I am an Instructional Partner teaching morning preschool with Holly Sexton. I have worked with her for the last two years and am excited to have this opportunity to work with her again. This will be my first year in preschool as I have been in kindergarten for the last two years. I attended CU Denver but was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years so it's only recently that I've been back in the workforce.

My husband and I met in college and just celebrated our 17th anniversary. We have 6 kids; 4 boys and 2 girls ranging in age from 15 to 6. We live in Littleton and we love traveling, especially to the beach. It's our happy place! We have a LARGE extended family that we enjoy spending time with too.

I enjoy working with children! They make me laugh and I find that there is so much that I can learn from them. Kids make me smile. I am excited to be working with preschoolers this year and think that we have an amazing team of teachers. It's gonna be a great year!

Early Childhood Special Education Specialist

My name is Erica Cerami and this will be my second year as the Preschool Early Childhood Special Education Specialist at Kendallvue! Additionally, I also provide special education services to the wonderful children of the Peiffer and Blue Heron preschool classrooms.

I've worked in the field of Early Childhood Education, specifically infancy through pre-k, for almost 15 years in various high-quality settings including Head Start, University early learning centers, licensed and accredited childcare centers, and public school settings. I obtained my Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercyhurst University, Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Edinboro University, and Master's in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Denver.
I live in Conifer with my husband and enjoy spending time with him in the mountains as much as possible. We are both from Erie, Pennsylvania and moved here 5 years ago to enjoy this gorgeous and life-fulfilling state. I love everything outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and trail running. I have a nephew and niece who make my heart whole and I visit them often in the suburbs of Chicago.
Working with young children is and always has been my true love and passion. I feel so fortunate to be able to make a difference and change brains for the better during critical childhood development years. I believe every child learns differently and at their own, unique pace. I also believe in the power of play-based learning, and that children learn best while using their bodies, minds, and senses.

I'm looking forward to another great year with Jeffco and the Kendallvue community!
