Kenna Stickney

    Kenna and Family

Hi! I’m Kenna Stickney.  This will be my 4th year teaching kindergarten at Kendallvue. I was born in Oregon but moved to Colorado when I was just three. I grew up in Littleton Public Schools and then went to Metro State, where I studied Spanish and Elementary Education.

My husband Trent and I have been married for 4 years and together we have an [almost] 2-year-old daughter named Ella and a 9-month-old lab mix named Rooney. I love spending time with them in any capacity; whether we’re playing in the yard, snuggling up for a movie, or heading to the mountains for a day of hiking and exploring!

I feel very fortunate to work at Kendallvue, where such a high priority is placed on family and community. I consider myself lucky getting to spend my days with kindergartners and watch the remarkable transformation that takes place in these little humans from August to May. I’m looking forward to another year with a new batch of amazing kids!

Hello! I am Kendyll Hulyk!  This upcoming school year will be my third year teaching and my third year at Kendallvue Elementary School. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a BA in Human Development and teaching licensure in 2017. As a lifelong learner, I am always willing to learn new material and looking for ways to better myself as an educator to make my classroom a positive learning environment for my students. To do this, I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction through Western Governor’s University. I have taught second grade in the past two years and am SO excited to be moving to kindergarten this year!

I believe that every student is entitled to receive an enriching individualized education in a caring and nurturing classroom. My core beliefs are in teaching the whole child, individualization, and continuously fostering intrinsic motivation. I personally strive to be a prepared, proactive, and reflective teacher that facilitates the growth of all children. I am passionate about high student engagement, movement in the classroom, differentiated instruction, and the integration of technology. I am a huge proponent of collaboration and believe that it takes a team to truly make a school run successfully. And I have to say, at Kendallvue we truly do have the dream team of faculty, staff, and families!

A little bit about me, I am a born and raised Coloradan and attended school in Jeffco myself. I am a fourth-generation teacher and believe that this career is my life’s calling. In my free time I love to golf, fish, camp, and surf Pinterest for crafting ideas! I enjoy spending time with my family and my two cats. I am very much a homebody and I appreciate a mellow night in with popcorn and a movie. Despite that, I have done some fun traveling this summer to California, Montana, and Oregon. I have enjoyed being busy this summer (teaching a GT camp, dance camp, nannying, tutoring, and doing some freelance web designing) and am looking forward to returning to the classroom in just a short time!
