Second/Third Grade Team

Rachael Alford

2nd/3rd Remote Teacher

Hello! My name is Rachael Alford and I am so excited to be joining the Kendallvue Elementary family this year. I started my teaching career in the Green Mountain area, and for the past 5 years I've been teaching in the mountains. Although I love tshe Colorado mountains, I am eager to start a new journey down the hill, again. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 4th Grade, and now 2nd and 3rd remote! Teaching is my passion and I absolutely love what I do each and every day.

Along with loving to teach, I also have a love for the outdoors. I enjoy fishing, gardening, hiking, boating, snowboarding and traveling. My favorite place to be is in the middle of the ocean deep sea fishing, with my kids and husband. I have 2 kids, Troy who is 18 and Joyce who is almost 16. We have 3 dogs: Lucky, Duchess, and Belle, along with a leopard gecko named Joe.
I have always said that I teach like I parent. I have high expectations for my children and for my students. I believe that people learn best 2 ways: through hands on experiences and through making mistakes. When I teach, I get outside of the classroom as much as possible so the kids have the opportunity to do more 'out of the box' type of learning.

I am excited to see what this school year brings, and am even more excited to watch your kids grow! Please feel free to reach out for any reason!

Allyson Gibson

Allyson Gibson and Family

Hello Kendallvue! My name is Allyson Gibson and I am excited to be in 2nd grade again this year.

I have now been at Kendallvue for all 6 years of my teaching career and could not be more grateful for landing in such a great community and place to teach. After teaching 1st grade for 4 years I moved up to 2nd grade and absolutely love it! I am a Metro State graduate and am in the process of pursuing a Master of Science in Instruction and Curriculum Design.

I am a mom of two boys ages 4 and 2 with LOTS of energy! Most of my time outside of school is spent with these little guys at the park, library, swimming and playing (their favorite) baseball. When I do get an extra minute or two, I enjoy the outdoors, reading, and going out to dinner.

I have dreamed of being a teacher for as long as I can remember, therefore, I am essentially living my dream career. I love working with kids and seeing their face light up when they have mastered something new. Creating a team of learners within the classroom is something I value.  I am looking forward to another great year in 2nd grade!

Kelsey Fugita

Hello! My name is Kelsey Fugita! I am teaching 2nd/3rd grade! This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching and my third year at Kendallvue. I was lucky enough to be able to be a field intern and a student teacher at Kedallvue for the past two years, both in 3rd grade! I am so excited to be able to continue to learn and grow with the community of Kendallvue.
As a lifelong learner,

I am always striving to become a better teacher and make my learning environment a positive space for everyone. There is no place like Kendallvue for me, and it has truly become my home these past three years. I am thrilled to be able to bring my beliefs of looking at the whole child and what each child needs and has to offer individually, while also focussing on building a community in our classroom, school, and community.
I am a Colorado Native

and was born and raised in Jefferson County. I enjoy spending time with my family and my two dogs, Riggins and Bumper. They’re my babies. I love to spend my time outside hiking and going on adventures. Colorado has so much beauty to offer and I love to explore and adventure.  I also love to just spend time relaxing by listening to music, reading books (love Harry Potter), and watching movies. I am a huge sports fan. I love to watch and go to Denver Broncos games and Colorado Rockies games. I am also a huge fan of the Chicago Blackhawks (even though I’m not from Chicago)!
I am so excited to start

this year, regardless of what may come. I am so excited to be in second/third grade this year!

Mattison Lord

Matti Lord and Family

I am Matti Lord or Mrs. Lord and I will be in 2nd grade again this year.

I am excited for my third year teaching at Kendallvue. This will be my 9th year teaching. My first 3 years of teaching was on an island in southeast Alaska. I also coached HS cheerleading. I was lucky enough to meet my husband in Alaska and we moved back to my native roots in Colorado.

My husband Austin and I have a little spunky girl named Locklyn who is starting preschool this year. We also just welcomed a new addition to our family at the end of March, our little boy, Ledger. We love to go hiking, swimming, and paddleboarding.  I love to dance and have been having fun doing hair for weddings over the summer.

I have so much fun teaching and building a relationship with each kid in my class. I see our class as a family and we are there to support and learn from one another. I always strive to make learning fun, authentic, and engaging. I can’t wait for another exciting year in 2nd grade at Kendallvue!
