Mrs. Weiman

Welcome to Kendallvue Elementary! I’m excited and happy to be teaching first grade this coming school year! This will be my 22nd year teaching 1st grade at Kendallvue and 29th year teaching full time at Kendallvue, home of the Coyotes. I was raised in McCook, Nebraska and after high school continued my education at McCook Community College earning an Associate of Arts Degree. I attended and graduated from Peru State College (in Nebraska) with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. I completed my student teaching in Lincoln, Nebraska, and earned my Master of Science in Education Degree from the University of New England. I love Colorado and all that it has offered my family and me!
I have two grown children. My daughter, Kaitlyn, graduated from Metropolitan State College and taught 5 years at Alameda Jr/Sr High before leaving the teaching profession for a position in the restaurant business. Her passion growing up was riding horses at Westernaires with her friends. She now is a proud dog mom, of her beloved Kovu, a Great Dane. My son, Blake, is a professional baseball player. He was drafted in 2017 by the Pittsburgh Pirates and has moved up through the minor league system quickly. He started in short-season A then went to long season A, Advanced A, AA and AAA. Currently he’s playing in the Pacific Coast league, AAA ball, with the Tocama Ranier's (Seattle Mariners Organization). We are confident he’ll make the next big step to the majors and fulfill his lifetime dream! I enjoy teaching, traveling to baseball games, visiting family in Nebraska, walking my two-year-old dachshund-Jack and my 4-year-old black lab-Charlee, reading, working out, & relaxing with friends whenever possible.
I believe experiencing a strong foundation in elementary school is key to success! I want and work to give that to every child in my class. My goal each year is to challenge students while instilling confidence in themselves that sets them up for trying new things-being creative, making new friends, and exploring their way through the learning process-being curious. I love what I do, because I get to see such tremendous growth in children in one year, as well as follow them as they become young adults. It’s all about giving back what was given to me and was given to my own children as they began their education and became successful adults. I am so thankful to the teachers my own children had at Kendallvue and know you will feel the same!
